Artà & Manacor Grand Tour
A hundred and forty kilometres without a mountain in sight.
East across the plain to Artà, down to Manacor and back on rolling country roads. Under a thousand metres of climbing over the whole day, so the distance does the work instead of the gradient. Take a gilet — the return leg often has a headwind.
What to expect
A long day across the east of the island: through Alcúdia and the bay towards Artà, inland to Manacor and back across the central plain. The climbing is spread out in rolling hills rather than long cols, which makes it a big day of steady riding rather than a mountain stage.
Plan your day
At over 140 kilometres this ride takes most people the whole day. Plan your food and water stops in the towns along the way, and keep some reserve for the return across the plain, where the afternoon wind can make the last hour harder than the profile suggests.
Who it suits
This is the route for riders building distance for a sportive or a long event, or for anyone who wants to see the quieter, less touristy side of Mallorca. A fast, efficient bike pays off over this distance; an electric Defy keeps it achievable for riders who want the day without the fatigue.
Best for
Long-distance training, riders preparing for an event.
